I am leaning towards a subaru Forester, used, in my price range the mileage will be high - over 100,000 -145,000 My previous experience with subaru is expensive repairs - head gaskets, water pumps, wheel bearing, axles, all seem to go over around 100,000 I have found some with the mechanical issues mentioned that have been repaired, or addressed before issues occur I can’t decide if this

The Subaru AWD system is much more sophisticated than the CRV’s, and if you drive in winter conditions that may matter If this is not a consideration then choose the vehicle you like best or the one you’re more comfortable in

The '97 Subaru was more reliable than any of my previous cars, and that is why I did not hesitate to buy the '02 model In the 12 years 160k+ miles that I (and later, my brother) owned the '97 Outback, it needed to have the alternator replaced (at ~95k), the head gaskets replaced (at ~120k), and a lower control arm replaced (at 150k)

I own a 2006 Subaru Outback and one of the tires went flat on us When we brought it to one of those tire center places they told us that since it was an AWD vehicle we needed to replace all 4 tires and not just the one that went flat They said without placing all 4 we risk damaging the transmission… Never heard of such a thing
